VMware vRealize and Juniper vSRX

There have been some really amazing things going on in the automation world. The part about automation that is somewhat hard for people to recognize is why they need it and where to start. Sometimes this confusion is because automation means something different to everyone. One of the easiest ways to get started are via integrations with different vendors. Using the APIs makes all of this possible. One of the many things possible is the integration that Ghaleb Zekri (@GhalebZekri) has worked on recently. He took the API available from Juniper’s Space with Security Director and Virtual Director and made it work with VMware’s vRealize suite. Of course there is a video on YouTube giving you an understanding of what he accomplished.

Ghaleb also developed the following workflows to accomplish this task. The definition of “workflows” from VMware (vSphere 5.5) is “a series of actions and decisions that run sequentially.” As you can see from the image below, these workflows include  actions such as “deploy FFP”, “provision FFP template to Space VD”, “find FW policy by name”, etc. Don’t forget that FFP = vSRX.

If you want simplify your implementation and if you want to integrate vSRX with VMware vRealize then make sure you check out the video. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us via Twitter.
