November’s Important VMware Security Links

Needless to say, my life has been crazy since joining VMware. My ability to update this site has been falling behind as I work on some amazing projects. I even took over the VMware Public Sector Blog. What I noticed today when I updated the Public Sector site because of a tweet I sent out,

security guide 5.5vcm 5.5

was that there is alot of great information out there and not necessarily always as public as I would like it to be and certainly not in the same place. I figured, I could take some time to provide a greater list of important Security – VMware links that I think you should have handy. Lets start with the most recent:

VMware ESXi and vCenter Server 5.5 Documentation (security section) : goo.gl/GiEXgr

VMware vSphere 5.5 Security Guide : goo.gl/6gu8Ag

VMware Horizon View 5.2 Security Guide (covering View, View Manager, and View Composer) : goo.gl/yF8UL8

VMware vCenter Log Insight 1.0 Security Guide : goo.gl/a557hr

VMware vCenter Configuration Manager 5.7 Security Guide : goo.gl/mrtWfY

VMware Security Page for Security Advisors, Certifications, and Hardening Guides : goo.gl/VNNq6E

VMware vSphere 5.5 Hardening Guide (in excel format) : goo.gl/CZ8VsJ

(important to note this is now available through a vCM toolkit)

TCP and UDP ports required to access vCenter Server, ESX/ESXI hosts and other network components : goo.gl/mRtQNs

vCloud Networking and Security 5.1 Edge Configuration Limits and Throughput : goo.gl/NP5xXh

(Now I know that vCNS 5.5 is released now but they are important metrics to have. Please also note that the Quad X-Large Edge size was added to vCNS Edge)

I promise moving forward to keep a running list of important documents as changes occur and they become public. If you are looking for something, feel free to ask. I am here to help!!
